Microsoft Teams Integration
Push meeting summaries to Teams channels and leverage Teams data in OptiAgent.
Optiverse integrates with Microsoft Teams in three distinct ways: meeting joining, output pushing, and data access through MCP. Each serves a different purpose and can be configured independently.
If the assistant joins some Teams meetings but fails on others, the cause is often a Teams admin policy difference between organizers. See Troubleshoot Microsoft Teams Join Issues.

1. Calendar and Meeting Joining
Optiverse joins your Teams meetings automatically through your calendar connection. No additional Teams-specific setup is needed.
When the bot joins a Teams meeting:
- It appears as a participant in the meeting
- It announces itself in the Teams meeting chat
- It records and transcribes the conversation
Meeting joining works by default once you've connected your calendar. The bot reads your calendar events and joins scheduled Teams meetings automatically.
When Meeting Joining Fails For Only Some Users
If one organizer can use the assistant successfully while another cannot, the issue is usually not the calendar connection. It is more often caused by Teams admin settings that differ across users or meeting policies.
The most common fix is for your IT admin to verify that Anonymous users can join a meeting unverified is enabled at the global level and on any custom meeting policy assigned to affected organizers.

2. Pushing Summaries to Teams Channels
Send meeting summaries and protocols directly to any Teams channel your account has access to.
How to Push a Summary
- Open the recording page for a processed meeting
- Click the Teams icon
- Browse or search your available channels
- Select the target channel
- Click Push
The integration fetches all channels from your Teams workspace, letting you choose exactly where each summary should go.

You can push the same meeting summary to multiple channels by repeating the push process.
3. MCP Integration (Knowledge Hub)
When enabled, the Teams MCP integration gives OptiAgent read access to Teams channel data. This allows OptiAgent to combine channel messages with your meeting data for richer, more contextual answers.
What OptiAgent Can Access
- Channel messages, public channel conversations in your Teams workspace
- Channel files, shared content within channels
What OptiAgent Cannot Access
- Private individual chats
- Group chats
- Direct messages
The Teams MCP integration is limited to channels only. Private and group chats are never accessible to OptiAgent, ensuring personal conversations remain private.

Setup
Output Integration
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Microsoft Teams
- Click Connect
- Authenticate with your Microsoft account
- Grant the necessary permissions for channel access
MCP Integration
- Go to Settings > MCP / Knowledge Hub
- Find Microsoft Teams in the available integrations
- Toggle it on
- Select which tools to enable (read channel messages, list channels, etc.)
