Getting Started with Boards
Create Kanban-style task boards connected to your meetings for seamless task management.
Boards bring Kanban-style task management directly into Optiverse. Every task traces back to the meeting conversation where it originated, giving you a built-in system for tracking follow-ups without switching tools.
Creating a Board
- Navigate to the Boards page from the sidebar
- Click New Board
- Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "Sales Follow-ups", "Project Alpha", "Engineering Tasks")
- Your board is ready with default columns

Board Structure
Each board uses a Kanban layout with customizable columns:
| Default Column | Purpose |
|---|---|
| To Do | Tasks that haven't been started |
| In Progress | Tasks currently being worked on |
| Done | Completed tasks |
You can customize columns to match your team's workflow (e.g., add "Blocked", "In Review", or "Waiting").

Adding Tasks from Meetings
The core advantage of Boards is the direct connection between tasks and meetings:
- Open any recording page
- Find an action item in the meeting output
- Click the action item
- Optiverse generates an AI-powered task description automatically
- Assign the task to a board
- Assign it to a team member
- The task is created with a link back to the source meeting
Tasks created from meetings maintain a permanent link to their source conversation. You always know the exact context behind any task. Just click through to the original meeting.

Task Properties
Each task includes:
- Description, AI-generated from the meeting context, editable
- Assignee, a team member in your workspace
- Due date, set manually or extracted from the conversation
- Status, determined by which column the task is in
- Source meeting, linked reference to the originating recording
Sharing and Collaboration
Share boards with specific colleagues in your workspace for collaborative tracking:
- Team members can view and move tasks
- Everyone sees the same real-time board state
- Tasks assigned to someone appear on their view regardless of who created them

When to Use Boards vs. External Tools
Use Optiverse Boards when:
- You don't have a separate task management tool
- You want tasks directly connected to meeting context
- Your team prefers a lightweight, integrated solution
Use external integrations when:
- You already use Jira, Asana, Monday.com, or similar tools
- Your project management workflows are complex and established
- You need features beyond basic Kanban (sprints, epics, dependencies)
If you use an external task management tool, you can connect it via integrations or API to push action items there instead of using Boards.
